Announcement Date: October 1, 1938

Following the success of the Tenth Annual Exhibition, a meeting of exhibitors took place at the home of Mrs. Frank Lindemann for the purpose of organizing an art association.

Agnes Lindemann as President, Marion Fitch as Vice President, Lorone Rickel as Treasurer, Adeline Bull as Secretary, John L. Vogt as Corresponding Secretary, and Lillian Pear as Parliamentarian became the first elected officers and artists were required to submit their work to a jury of peers to become a member.

A dedicated room was secured at the Neighborhood Club for artists to meet and create and by the end of the first year, there were thirty members.
